These cooking classes have been successfully teaching children the fun and enjoyment of food and cooking for many years. Syd has produced lovely seasonal recipes which all children enjoy - whether it is making a simple vegetable frittata, stir frying spicy chicken or baking scrumptious cakes and tarts the children all seem to sign up each holidays!

The classes are small so the children get to have lots of time with the teachers and discussing recipes and ingredients as well as meeting the garden hens. The recipes are demonstrated first so the children can see all the tricks and tips first - then they get to cook. Syd tastes her cooked recipe to check out what they think of her dish and they all get to take her what they have cooked. A truly engaging experience.

Cooking classes for children in the September/October holidays
will be run on the following days:

27, 28, 29 September (Tues, weds, Thurs)
Time: 10am - 1pm
Age: 8 ½ to 13 years of age
Cost: $210 (for the 3 sessions)

4, 5, 6 October (Tues, weds, Thurs)
Time: 10am - 1pm
Age: From 14 years of age
Cost: $210 (for the 3 sessions)

The classes will teach two seasonal recipes each session and the students get to take home what they have cooked. In the class we will cover proper knife use and skills; cooking methods; sweet and savoury recipes and of course learn about different seasonal ingredients. The classes are fun and inter-active and some of the recipes we have cooked have been - Pear and chocolate tarts, pork and veal meatballs in tomato sauce, Chicken skewers with salad, carrot cup cakes with cream cheese icing. We create new recipes each holiday so the students will always learn something new.

What to bring: 2 large food containers to take home the cooked recipes

NEW CLASSES - After school workshops for teenagers

We are teaching kitchen skills and recipes for teenagers after school at Chatswood in the last term of school.  These classes follow on from last year when we taught a group of girls who were completing there Duke Of Edinburgh Course.  There will be a combination of sweet and savoury and we will cover correct knife technique, vegetable and fruit preparation as well as meats and dairy.  The students get to take home what they have cooked in the kitchen.
These promise to be a fun but informative.

When: Tuesday afternoons from 4pm - 6pm
Cost: Starting at $65 per child
Age: From 13 years upwards
(minimum of 10 children)
Where: Dougherty Centre, 7 Victor Street Chatswood
(Close to public transport and easy parking)
